Acclaimed Swiss pianist and composer Stefan Aeby unveils this trio recording with bass player André Pousaz and drummer Michi Stulz, showcasing each musician's clear, unique identity. The three members follow a minimal, free vision, leaving space and time to react to each other and to revel in the sounds. To build their multi-layered sonic architecture, the bandmates avoid the weight of the monumental, instead using their atmospheric musicianship to create a soundtrack for the poetry of the unobtrusive. The magic of this expansive music lies in a courageous aesthetic of modesty, which favours fine-fingered sensitivity over the muscular gestures of high-performance sport and thus a statement against the thundering excesses of spectacle, yet this graceful art is indeed spectacular in its filigree way. Unpretentiously, the trio has cultivated a kind of gallant tiptoe, the principle is to play softly and generate tension walking on velvet paws, at times through a calmness bordering on silence.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
