Country music star Kacey Musgraves releases her first Christmas album in time for the 2016 season, featuring guest turns from Willie Nelson, Leon Bridges and the Quebe Sisters. In addition to holiday favourites like Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, Musgraves co-wrote four original songs and co-produced the entire album.
"I really wanted to create a whimsical throwback holiday record, one that evokes feelings of nostalgia and simpler times ... the fine musicians and brains that were a part of this project have helped me create a body of music that can be added to people's classic collections ... part western swing sprinkled with bits of classic pop, hazy Hawaiian moments and childlike fun that all comes to a nostalgic, melancholy end and ultimately is very 'me' ... there can be a touch of sad feelings and memories during the holiday season for a lot of people so I knew when I went in to write I wanted to include all the emotions this time of year can bring out."
