Digital Booklet
"Four Stars. George Parris leads performances of spirit and delightful subtlety of dynamic range and expression." - Audiophile Audition "It’s good to have many of Warlock’s choral settings on one disc, sensitively performed by this technically confident group of singers ... a very valuable collection." - BBC Music Magazine Although he remains best remembered for his solo songs, for the song cycle The Curlew and for his evergreen suite Capriol, Peter Warlock’s choral works sit firmly in the great English lineage. The music ranges from hymns to carols, many spiced with his own "melody of chords" and his typically enticing harmonies. Some of Warlock’s most beautiful and sensitive settings are included on this 2014 album, not least Corpus Christi and Bethlehem Down, while there is also a very rare setting in Cornish (track 21), recorded for the first time in that language.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
