Papá Indio is the brainchild of Chicago-based Peruvian songwriter and musician José Ponte. El Ocio de las Tempestades, his first album since 2015, was preceded by the single A Este Momento. "I can’t be indifferent to what is happening around us. We witness changes every day that affect our present and our future irreversibly. It feels like our planet screams out for help searching for generous and charitable souls that put the lives of others before their personal interests. Conscious of that responsibility, I feel selfish dedicating a lot of my time and energy in the making of this project. However, it relieves me to think that writing a song is my way to be grateful to the life I have been given, for the everyday experiences that inspire me to write them and ultimately to the life that has given me the opportunity of meeting you. It’s my way of decorating the house where you and I live. I think about how millions of people are silently and selflessly doing beautiful acts of love right now, bringing joy to the biggest celebration of all: life itself. And that’s the only way I continue to work on this project happily, knowing that the time and effort I dedicate to each song continues to build the chain of love that, I am sure, you and I are building." - José Ponte
