"Four Stars ... César Franck’s Sonata, full of gorgeous tunes, receives a performance of passion and insight, it alone is worth the price of this disc. The earliest piece, Fauré’s Romance, has a suitably romantic sweep ... as do three interesting pieces by the Polish composer Szymanowski ... well worth getting to know ..."
- The Mail on Sunday

The indefatigable duo of violinist Tasmin Little and pianist Piers Lane returns with a unique programme based around the violin sonatas of Szymanowski and Franck. The combined expert musicianship of Little and Lane reveals the intimacy and magic of these passionate, late Romantic works. The album encompasses folk-like yet technically demanding pieces by Szymanowski, here more inspired by German and French romantic tradition than by his native Polish one, as well as Franck’s highly original Violin Sonata and Fauré’s Romance.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
