Digital Booklet
"Well crafted, brilliantly scored works ... under the composer’s direction sparkle … Boyer instills his Technicolor scores with a captivating energy and drive ..." - Classical Lost and Found Peter Boyer is one of the most frequently performed American orchestral composers of his generation, widely admired not least for his Grammy-nominated Ellis Island: The Dream of America. He has conducted recordings of his music with three of the world’s finest orchestras: the London Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonia Orchestra, and on this album, the London Philharmonic Orchestra. The centerpiece of this 2014 album, Symphony No. 1, is a highly approachable, lyrical and rhythmically charged work, dedicated to the memory of Leonard Bernstein. The composer says the works included here represent a cross section of his orchestral music: "Three Olympians reflects my interest in mythology and history. Often I have received invitations to compose music for celebratory concerts, and three of the works included here -- Silver Fanfare, Festivities and Celebration Overture -- were created for such occasions.” Recorded at Abbey Road Studios.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
