Eugene Ysaÿe was a true virtuoso and musical visionary of the late 19th and 20th centuries, and his violin works are among the most challenging and entrancing in the repertoire. Venezuelan violinist Giovanni Guzzo vividly plays the performer-composer’s six solo sonatas on this release, with each work dedicated to a famous violinist of Ysaÿe’s time, including Fritz Kreisler and Joseph Szigeti.
