Acclaimed American tenor John Osborn is joined by the Kaunas State Choir, the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra, and conductor Constantine Orbelian for a collection of arias associated with famed 19th-century French tenor Gilbert Duprez. A significant figure in the development of opera, Duprez was known for using chest voice for his upper range, a major innovation. Duprez's prolific performing career allows Osborn and the Kaunas forces to explore works by Verdi, Donizetti, Berlioz, and Rossini, making for a luscious programme of 19th-century operatic works.
