Pianist Yuanfan Yang, winner of the piano category in the 2012 BBC Young Musician of the Year, presents his debut album with Orchid Classics. This charming programme sees the young performer present lively renditions of solo works by favourites. Schubert, Chopin, and Liszt, but the release is also enriched by a composition of Yang's own writing—the evocative 3 Aquarelles—along with a romantic arrangement of the traditional Chinese song Liuyang River and contemporary works by Philip Cashian and Peter Maxwell Davies.
