The first of what would be several greatest hits and live compilations, Kiss released this double album in 1978, covering material issued between 1974 and 1977. Many of the tracks are different from the familiar original studio versions, having either been remixed or in the case of Strutter, completely re-recorded and renamed Strutter '78 as an incentive for fans to buy this collection. Other songs are edited or otherwise manipulated.
