Islands is the last album by the Robbie Robertson-led lineup of The Band and consists of leftover tracks from previous albums, a contractual obligation in order to facilitate the release of the soundtrack of The Last Waltz on a competing label. Among the interesting songs collected here are the holiday standard Christmas Must Be Tonight and a cover of Georgia On My Mind recorded in 1976 in conjunction with US president Jimmy Carter's election campaign.
