Digital Booklet
"... this recording now leads the field ... I look forward to hearing more from Tom Winpenny ..." - MusicWeb International "The combination of instrument, repertory and Winpenny’s immaculate playing is beyond reproach ... a worthwhile and utterly reliable set of reference recordings ..." - International Record Review "Five Stars ... the sound quality is wonderfully open and wide-ranging ... Winpenny has Stanford’s music in his blood ... a thoroughly satisfying release ... the big works shine in their majesty." - Audiophile Audition On his debut solo release, organist Tom Winpenny presents a unique recital programme of Stanford organ works featuring four world premieres. This first volume in a series dedicated to Stanford contains a mix of both well known and less familiar organ works, including the Fantasia and Toccata through to the early Prelude and Fugue and the pastoral idyll By the Seashore. Winpenny performs these works on the unspoilt Binns organ of 1892 at Queens' College, University of Cambridge.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
