Digital Booklet
"... (the fragments are) well worth hearing ... Sang Woo Kang plays them with care and some delicacy. I am sure that Mozartians will want to hear some recording of the fragments: this is a good one and it is recorded well." - Fanfare Pianist Sang Woo Kang presents this album of marvellous relics; rarely heard fragments including fugues which demonstrate Mozart’s agility with sophisticated contrapuntal techniques and reveal the influence of Bach. The more substantial rondos have gained popularity with their memorable themes and musical depth, while forays into Baroque style can be heard in the unfinished Suite. Together with the improvisational Fantasias and a mocking parody of a Funeral March, these pieces all highlight neglected facets of Mozart’s oeuvre.
192 kHz / 24-bit, 96 kHz / 24-bit PCM and 5.6448 MHz, 2.8224 MHz DSD – 2xHD - Naxos Studio Masters

This album was mastered using our 2xHD proprietary system. In order to achieve the most accurate reproduction of the original recording we tailor our process specifically for each project, using a selection from our pool of state-of-the-art audiophile components and connectors. The process begins with a transfer to analogue from the original 24-bit / 96 kHz resolution master, using cutting edge D/A converters. The analogue signal is then sent through a high end tube preamplifier before being recorded directly in DXD using the dCS905 A/D and the dCS Vivaldi Clock. All connections used in the process are made of OCC silver cable. DSD and 192 kHz / 24-bit versions are separately generated, directly from the analogue signal. 2xHD Mastering: René Laflamme 2xHD Executive producer: André Perry

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
