Duo FugARTo, consisting of Michael Krenn on soprano saxophone and Yueming Xu on the accordion, presents this album exploring the sound achieved by combining both their instruments. The accordion and the saxophone complement each other in a unique sort of way in which their different sounds seem to melt into each other on the one hand and create sharp contrasts on the other hand. At the heart of the two musicians' work there is always the search for a very personal and unique interpretation. Among the pieces is the commissioned work SaxAccordia by Theodor Burkali alongside music by Alessandro Marcello, Krzysztof Penderecki, Toru Takemitsu, Luciano Berio and Astor Piazzolla.
