Digital Booklet
"Strongly recommended to all listeners, however strong their preferences for various approaches to the instruments, to Bach’s music, or to music in general." - Fanfare "Five Stars ... both musicians give impeccable technical performances and, while there is no shortage of recordings of these sonatas, Jarrett and Makarski’s interpretations add something individual." BBC Music Magazine "... an eloquent restatement of Bach ... (Makarski and Jarrett) enthrall, embrace and enchant. Along the way there are moments that can only be created when the most sublime music is performed by the most empathic of musicians: musicians who know and, more importantly, feel what the composer set out to create. Wondrously, this is what Jarrett and Makarski have achieved together ..." - JazzTimes.com Violinist Michelle Makarski is joined by her friend Keith Jarrett on this 2010 recording devoted to Bach's classic duo sonatas, where violin and keyboard meet on equal terms and both are challenged by Bach’s compositional demands. C.P.E. Bach would later pronounce these pieces as “among the best works of my dear father.” This is Jarrett’s first "classical" album since his Mozart piano recitals of 1996 and only the second occasion on which he has recorded Bach on piano rather than harpsichord.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
