"... with Django, you got a new look at jazz, which caught on very, very fast in America. It was a very, very popular ensemble and Django was its biggest hit." - NPR "... (Django) is classic jazz in construction and execution. Ultimately, it has become a classic on its own and, certainly, the place to begin appreciating the many and great virtues of one of jazz's finest aggregates." - All About Jazz This remastered reissue compiles two of the earliest albums from The Modern Jazz Quartet on the Prestige label, the landmark Concorde from 1955 and its follow-up, Django released in 1956, both featuring Milt Jackson on the vibraphone. Concorde marked the first full-length album from The Modern Jazz Quartet while Django consists of tracks recorded at sessions over a three-year period and originally issued on a pair of 10-inch vinyl records.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
