On Le Temps Retrouvé, flutist Toon Fret and pianist Veronika Iltchenko offer a rich, sensitive reading of repertoire from the French Belle Époque, the period between the end of the Franco-Prussian War in 1871 and the onset of World War I. This selection of colourful pieces by Debussy, Gaubert, Fauré, Enescu and Koechlin is a musical mosaic unique to that fascinating chapter in the history of music, during which the flute had a prominent role.
