This collection of Leighton's sacred choral music showcases the Choir of St John's College, Cambridge directed by Christopher Robinson, who present these rich, lush harmonies featuring subtle dissonance, rhythmic energy and a lilting, angular lyricism. The programme includes the two contrasting Canticle Settings and the Easter Sequence scored for boys voices, organ and trumpet, performed here by soloist Crispian Steele-Perkins.
