German violinist Liv Migdal is both the featured soloist and the conductor of the Deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin on this revealing programme. Titled 8 Jahreszeiten, which translates to "Eight Seasons," the album contains Vivaldi’s famous Four Seasons together with Astor Piazzolla’s Las Cuatro Estaciones Portenas, an interesting compliment to the Vivaldi. Piazzolla composed his work between 1965 and 1969 for an ensemble comprised of violin, electric guitar, piano, double bass and bandoneon, fusing jazz, classical and Afro-Hispanic music.
