Stanislav Khristenko kicks off the first extended survey of the piano music of Ernst Krenek with this release, featuring the Fourth Sonata which revisits the graceful elegance of the First Viennese School in the style of the Second. The album also contains the world premiere of a brief Prelude and concludes with Krenek’s completed version of Schubert’s unfinished Piano Sonata No. 15.
