"... (DoReMi) seems perfectly tailored to the brilliance of Midori’s playing ..." - The Guardian This album of world premieres resulted from a concert in November 2014 by the Orchestre philharmonique de Radio France to celebrate the 70th birthday of eminent Hungarian composer and conductor Peter Eötvös. Under Eötvös's direction, three of his concertos were performed featuring three soloists of the front rank. The violin concerto DoReMi, played here by its dedicatee Midori, is followed by the Cello Concerto Grosso, a triangular dialogue between the solo cello of Jean-Guihen Queyras, the cello section and the full orchestra. The spectacular Speaking Drums concludes the programme on a highpoint: the orchestra of approximately 40 musicians prolongs the performance, theatrical as much as musical, of the percussionist, who moves from point to point on the platform, thus creating links with various instruments of the orchestra. The stunning Martin Grubinger lends his voice and his percussion playing to this piece, which climaxes in highly virtuosic polyrhythm.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
