Digital Booklet
Goin' Home: A Retrospective from pianist and composer Gay Pearson is a live recording of her annual chamber jazz concert, presented in October 2015 in her hometown of Newburyport, Massachussetts. Her varied ensemble performs a wide variety of music with different instrumental combinations, from Astor Piazzolla to classic tunes by Chick Corea, Harold Arlen and Jerome Kern, to four contemporary original compositions by Pearson herself. "My compositions do not always begin with a simple idea of a single chord, but it is important to note that I always hear harmony first, out of which melodies may or may not evolve. My favourite and easiest approach is to change one note of a chord at a time and see where that takes me, or to start with a harmonic sequence, then decide how long it should be, at what intervals it will repeat." - Gay Pearson

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
