On this first volume devoted to Arthur Vincent Lourié’s piano music, Czech keyboardist Giorgio Koukl traces the composer's journey from the Debussian Impressionism of his youthful Cinq Préludes fragiles through absorption of Scriabin’s chromaticism in the eerie Masques to the near-Cubism of Formes en l’air. The programme concludes with two world premiere recordings.
