This is a reissue of the 1987 self-titled album from jazz fusion pioneers Perujazz, formed in Lima as a quartet in 1984. The group has won prestige and international acclaim for creating, researching and disseminating Peruvian rhythms blended with contemporary jazz, played on both traditional and modern instruments, acoustic and electric. Over the years Perujazz has forged its unique sound that coherently and innovatively integrates musical roots from the coast, the highlands and the jungle of Peru with masterly improvisations.
