This remastered reissue contains 1950s studio recordings of songs from earlier Gershwin Broadway musicals that predated the era of soundtrack albums, all conducted by Tony Award winner Lehman Engel. Although they weren't involved in the stage productions or the later film adaptation, Mary Martin and Louise Carlyle present songs from the 1930 musical Girl Crazy, featuring the standard I Got Rhythm. Jack Cassidy and Barbara Ruick perform selections from Gershwin's 1926 musical Oh, Kay!, including the classic Someone to Watch Over Me.
