For his first solo project in eight years, electronic music artist Howard Stelzer ventured to the Brayton Point coal-fired power plant in Somerset, Massachusetts to record ambient sounds, using the functioning generating station as a giant musical instrument. The resulting album Brayton Point has been described as a massive slab of slow throb.
"I aimed to get across what these structures are like in my imagination ... monstrous, horrible, imposing, completely stoic and inhuman and yet also beautiful in a way that's difficult to articulate."
- Howard Stelzer
