Meat Loaf and songwriter Jim Steinman reunite after a decade apart on 2016's Braver Than We Are, a set of 10 songs entirely written by Steinman and reminiscent of Bat Out of Hell. Continuing the connection to his landmark debut, Meat Loaf is joined by vocalist Ellen Foley, who sang the original female part on Paradise by the Dashboard Light and Karla DeVito, who performed the same role live on tour. Former Anthrax member Paul Crook plays guitar and returns to the producer's chair after working on Meat Loaf's last album, 2012's Hell in a Handbasket.
