Juno Award Nomination – Classical Album of the Year: Vocal or Choral, 2018 "(Philippe Sly has a) beautiful, blooming tone and magnetic stage presence." - San Francisco Chronicle Young award-winning Québecois bass-baritone Philippe Sly and Texas guitarist John Charles Britton join forces on Schubert Sessions in order to broaden and heighten the composer's place in popular culture, in particular his influence on modern popular song. Schubert wrote over 600 Lieder, many of which might very well have taken shape at the guitar, an instrument he learned early on in life and played frequently. Publishers of the day offered transcriptions of his works for guitar, a tradition continued with these arrangements by Britton. Compared to the piano, the guitar gives the accompanist greater proximity to the singer, an artistic rapport perceptible to the attentive listener.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
