This remastered collection features a dozen songs recorded in 1938 and 1944 by jazz saxophonist Lester Young with the Kansas City Five, essentially the members of the Count Basie Orchestra minus Basie. The compilation also includes tracks from Young's 1944 big band album The Master's Touch and other selections from the era.
