Two original Broadway cast recordings of early 1950s Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals come together on this remastered compilation. The 1951 soundtrack of the classic The King and I starring Gertrude Lawrence and an almost-unknown young actor named Yul Brynner was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2000. Rodgers and Hammerstein followed up the monumental success of The King and I with Me and Juliet in 1953, featuring Isabel Bigley, Bill Hayes and Joan McCracken.
