"The best songs on Ringo 2012 are nostalgic ..." - PopMatters.com "His trips down Memory Lane, thematically and musically, yield some modestly charming results here." - Los Angeles Times "... cheerful, upbeat songs about peace ... and wistful nostalgia ... that sound a bit like the Beatles' later output ... it's all amiable enough stuff ..." - The Guardian "These nine buoyant, no-frills tunes could've been recorded anytime in the past 40 years. But they're knocked out with unchanging bonhomie, steeped in the nice vibes he generates with pals like Dave Stewart and his brother-in-law Joe Walsh ... proves that even after so many things have passed, some things and some dudes stay pretty much the same." - Rolling Stone For this 2012 release, Ringo Starr co-wrote with Dave Stewart, Van Dyke Parks, Joe Walsh and Glen Ballard and covers a couple of his own tracks, accompanied by an all-star group including Benmont Tench of Tom Petty's band on organ, the late jazz bassist Charlie Haden, guitarists Walsh and Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Edgar Winter on sax and organ and Stewart on guitar and keyboards. Ringo 2012 is a nod to Starr's most famous solo outing, 1973's platinum Ringo and features an update of the song Step Lightly that originally appeared on the earlier album.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
