Digital Booklet
"All Ogawa's performances are scrupulously worked, considered and clarified." - Gramophone "Five Stars ... firmly immersed in the transcendent sounds of Debussy’s final years ... a predictably mastery recital ... there are moments of breathtaking brilliance ... her sense of poetry and colour are apparent throughout ... her control of atmosphere in the Epigraphes antiques underlines why her series is one of the strongest on disc and a thoroughly outstanding achievement." - BBC Music Magazine Released in 2008, this is the fourth installment in Noriko Ogawa's lavishly-praised five volume series devoted to Debussy's piano music. On the programme, Ogawa combines some of the composer's last masterpieces for the piano with rarely heard works. Among the highlights, the 12 Etudes represent Debussy's final, glorious spurt of creativity; dispensing with the catchiness of appealing titles and associations, Debussy regarded the pieces as a return to music in its purest form. The album also includes a rarely heard 13th étude, the Étude retrouvée, only discovered in 1977.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
