Bragernes kirkes ungdomskor's new Christmas album Colors of Christmas contains a bunch of beautiful songs that spring from the Christmas message, with hope, expectation and joy. The girls in the choir have been able to choose the 15 songs on the release - songs that mean a lot to them, and which they are especially fond of. More than half of the music is Norwegian and written in recent times, by composers Kim André Arnesen, Svein Møller, Tove Knutsen and Fredrik Sixten. The latter is Swedish, but lives in Trondheim, where he was previously cantor in Nidaros Cathedral. Many of the songs have not been recorded before, and the choir has had a close and fruitful collaboration with several of the composers. Some more traditional and foreign Christmas songs are also included, such as "Carol of the Bells" and "Ding Dong! Merrily on High! ». In other words, the stage is set for atmospheric pre-Christmas evenings with both a pleasant rehearsal of old classics and hopefully some new Christmas favorites! The performance of the songs varies between choir a capella and choir with instrumentalists. The talented musicians who have participated in the recording are violinists Bogumila Dowlasz Nystedt and Amanda Håøy Horn, viola player Henninge Landaas, cellist Anne Stine Dahl, bassist Frode Berg, harpist Sunniva Rødland, flutist Ingrid Holmen, oboist Jan Bertelsen, trumpet player and Odd Nilsen and organist Anders Eidsten Dahl. The recordings were made in Bragernes church, which is the choir's base on a daily basis.
