One of the leading bassists and producers in his native Israel before relocating to New York City, Yonatan Levy drew on his past musical experiences to create his debut self-titled album. Many of the tracks began life organically on a guitar or bass, yet Levy is refreshingly honest about what followed. He admits that honing those easily-found ideas into something truly worthwhile takes dedication. The fruits of that dedication are evident in the finely crafted textures that form the perfect framework through which the freedom of his creativity can breathe. The result is a series of songs which exude a relaxed tenderness that is quite irresistible, each one distinct yet coming together as a coherent whole.
