Loch Ness Rising is the debut album from Ohio metal band Haxxan, founded by underground legend Killjoy DeSade (Necrophagia,The Ravenous, Wurdulak) on vocals and synthesizers with guitarist Shawn Slusarek. The duo writes material that has an old-school black metal vibe, citing such influences as Beherit, Archgoat and Blasphemy with hints of Candlemass and Mercyful Fate. Loch Ness Rising is conceptually based on Aleister Crowley, as DeSade has been a lifelong Crowley enthusiast. Haxxan celebrates the life, works and magick of Crowley through patiently unfolding vistas of doom and dread, eerieness and unease that lend these songs a unique character. As expected, DeSade stretches all extremes of his twisted and tortured throat, almost narrating the slowly enveloping fog of unearthly horror. Taken together, Loch Ness Rising is an experience both atmospheric and caustic, bleeding black blood and drinking it from a ceremonial cup, just as Crowley would've wanted it.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
