"... unique ... presents a confident and dynamic songwriter and performer with a rich background in stylistic and regional influences."
- PopMatters.com

"Four Stars ... glorious, ethereal, sublime ... bursting with standouts, none more so than Astral Plane, which finds June full of childlike wonderment amid a gloriously ethereal atmosphere reminiscent of Van Morrison’s Astral Weeks. Fantastic stuff."
- The Guardian

"... (songs) are suffused with nostalgia or idealism that's also strikingly grounded. She gives emotional weight to the work that goes into sustaining and stabilizing domestic lives ... for June, labour, longing and reverie exist side by side ... the result is a marvel of mindfulness. Rambling yet precise, regal yet downhome, earthy yet mystical, June's musical imagination is a world to get lost in."

This highly-acclaimed album from Memphis-born, Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Valerie June Hockett is the follow-up to her major label debut, Pushin' Against a Stone, considered one of the best releases of 2013 according to several critics. Whereas that album featured songs co-written with Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys, all 12 tracks on The Order Of Time were entirely self-written. June's friend Norah Jones adds her distinctive vocals to three numbers while Shake Down sparkles with background vocal contributions from June's father Emerson and her brothers, Patrick and Jason.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
