American post-bop jazz pianist Frank Kimbrough is featured on this double album compiling his work from 2003-2006. The 2-disc offering presents Lullabluebye on disc one, followed by Play. The latter album, featuring bassist Masa Kamaguchi and legendary drummer Paul Motion alongside pianist Frank Kimbrough was recorded in a total of five hours at Palmetto's Maggie's Farm on April 26, 2005 with no rehearsal. Frank remembers the experience: "We played on a beautiful, sun-dappled spring afternoon in the country, set up in the same room…the day was intense, but comfortably so, the atmosphere friendly and enhanced by a true generosity of spirit". Lullabluebye features Kimbrough alongside two Jazz Composer's Collective associates, bassist Ben Allison and drummer Matt Wilson. The trio of musicians "read each other like the old friends and musical partners they are, and their familiarity and intuitive approach to improvised form accounts in large part for the album’s success." What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
