"These leading exponents of their instruments almost intuitively bring dramatic, fresh tones and textures to notes and chords that you have heard hundreds of times before. The almost vocal styles of Crispell and Peacock have endeared them to generations of free-thinking musicians and here they show why. Their explosive whimsy is captured on Backseat of the Galaxy, In Motion and Isle of Nowhere. The rest of the repertoire is no less wondrous and is full of joyous evocation and revels in the über-virtuosity of all three musicians whose brilliance has no limits."
- The WholeNote

Pianist Marilyn Crispell met up with with drummer Richard Poole and bass player Gary Peacock in a studio in Woodstock, New York for one day in November 2014 to record a session of creative improvisation. The result was 10 beautiful pieces which document the great art of spontaneous music making and underline the outstanding personalities of the three esteemed artists. In Motion exudes rapport, whether the trio ruminates upon attenuated melodic contours, charges through jagged motives or rides buoyant grooves. It is the type of rapport that suggests a long incubation of materials and processes.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
