Grammy Nomination - Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media, 2015

"With Mick Jagger as one of the film's producers, we can be confident that the soundtrack will also do justice to the great singer."
- The Telegraph
"
The tracks chosen for the album paint a clear picture of a legend and there's nothing but a soulful and funkdafied Brown to be heard."
- SoulBounce

"Brown’s hits fed an incredible legacy of live performances, and the soundtrack further highlights Brown’s legendary stage prowess with two previously unreleased concert recordings heard in the film ..."
- VVN Music

In his follow-up to the four-time Academy Award-nominated blockbuster The Help, Tate Taylor directs 42's Chadwick Boseman as James Brown in the 2014 biopic Get On Up. Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones acted as co-producer after the James Brown Estate approached him to bring Brown's life story to the silver screen. Guitarist Keith Jenkins who played guitar in Brown's band from 1994 to 2006 served as technical advisor for the musical performances and even plays himself in one concert scene. The soundtrack features Brown's original live and studio tracks including five songs that have been newly re-arranged and produced for the film.

"James Brown wanted to be in the forefront musically. He was a groovemaker and a tastemaker whose grooves have become part of the hip hop language. I find his life endlessly fascinating and deeply moving, and I was honored to be considered to become one of the caretakers of it."
- Mick Jagger, co-producer

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
