"Brautigam, a period instrument specialist, clearly has a real affinity for these Haydn keyboard works and delivers a direct and appealing interpretation. He undoubtedly gives a sensitively expressed account of these contemplative and reverent sacred works. With clean articulation and a fine characterisation his performance is certainly a fine one... The recorded sound is vivid and extremely lifelike." - MusicWeb International Dutch keyboardist Ronald Brautigam performs a Haydn-approved keyboard arrangement of the composer's The Seven Last Words of Our Saviour On the Cross, a multi-part work written to accompany mediation during Lent services. It is a solomn and at times anguished collection of long, slow movements, excepting the seventh which depicts the earthquake that followed Christ's crucifixion, according to the Gospel of Matthew.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
