Thank You Friends: Big Star’s Third Live…And More celebrates the musical legacy of one of rock’s most influential bands with an all-star concert performance of songs from Big Star's mythical third album. Recorded and filmed live in Glendale, California in April 2016, the late ’70s power pop classic is interpreted by a collective of immensely talented and famous fans, including Mike Mills of R.E.M., Jeff Tweedy and Pat Sansone of Wilco, Robyn Hitchcock, Mitch Easter, Semisonic's Dan Wilson and Benmont Tench from Tom Petty's Heartbreakers as well as sole surviving Big Star member Jody Stephens and a full chamber orchestra helmed by San Francisco’s acclaimed Kronos Quartet and conducted by Carl Marsh, who wrote the original orchestrations for the Big Star album.
