Grammy Award - Best Classical Solo Vocal Album, 2015 "... full of delicious variety ... von Otter's voice has a greater mellowness and just the right hint of huskiness, to conjure the salon atmosphere of so many of these intimate songs." - The Guardian "... her sung French is so good and her sense of idiom so secure, that there's a great deal to enjoy here, especially as the songs have been chosen with such obvious care ... no doubts here ... this is a joy.” - International Record Review “All listeners, whichever direction they are coming from, should expect a voyage of discovery ... only a singer with von Otter's near-native grasp of the French language and style could bring this off ... this is a double pleasure.” - Gramophone Internationally acclaimed Swedish mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter is one of the finest singers of her generation with a wealth of recordings and numerous awards. This Grammy-winning album is von Otter's loving tribute to French song, from Fauré to Ferré, Debussy to Piaf and Trenet to Montand sung in impeccable French.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
