Following the enthusiastic reception of the ATMA Classique recording of the "Concerto de Québec" by André Mathieu last year, pianist Jean-Philippe Sylvestre returns to us in force with a new album which takes a fresh look at Mathieu's work, this time with Piano Concerto No. 4, associated with Rachmaninoff's "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini". The recording was made as part of the Classica Festival, with the help of the Orchester Métropolitain under the attentive direction of Alain Trudel.
