British-Italian tenor Freddie De Tommaso releases his second album, Il Tenore, featuring some of the most iconic arias and duets with Lise Davidsen, Aigul Akhmetshina and Natalya Romaniw. Il Tenore follows the release of Freddie De Tommaso’s debut album Passione in 2021 when he became the first solo tenor to debut at No.1 in the UK Official Classical Artist Albums Chart for 20 years. It also comes after a year in which he’s has taken Europe’s opera houses by storm – from La Scala in Milan, to Wiener Staatsoper, Bayerishe Staatsoper, Semperoper Dresden and the Royal Opera House in London. “I am incredibly excited to release my second album on Decca, Il Tenore, a collection of arias and duets from the operas which are central to my career at the moment and that I love to sing most. It is exciting to be able to share some of my favourite operatic repertoire with the public. I am so glad to be a part of the Decca family, and to be joined on this album by my fellow Decca artist Lise Davidsen, as well as my friends Aigul Akhmetshina and Natalya Romaniw which was great fun in the recording studio. I look forward to sharing our love of this timeless music with the listeners.” - Freddie De Tommaso

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
