"Here is evidence of careful and imaginative programme planning... The Elgar pieces are splendid vehicles with which to demonstrate the fine ensemble of this choir... Hogan's accompaniments are exemplary."
- Roger Judd, Organists Review
"It is good to renew my acquaintance with this choir and their music. The singing is excellent and the organ playing second to none."
- John France, MusicWeb International
Paul Hale leads the choir of Southwell Minster in a programme exploring the wide range of emotions present in the Psalms of David. Focusing on British music from the 20th century, the release presents a fresh take on this choral tradition, with S.S. Wesley's anthem Ascribe unto the Lord serving as a sumptuous centrepiece highlighting both the interpretive care of the choral singers and the brilliant accompaniment of organist Simon Hogan.
