Digital Booklet
Multiple Grammy winner and nominee Béla Fleck composed his first standalone banjo concerto The Impostor in 2011, through a commission with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra. The work is dedicated to Earl Scruggs, who attended the Nashville premiere. Fleck has since performed the concerto worldwide over 40 times and released this live recording with Giancarlo Guerrero and the Nashville Symphony in 2013. To round out the album, the quartet Brooklyn Rider presents another commission, Night Flight Over Water, for banjo and string quartet. "(The Impostor) is the culmination of many years of getting up the nerve to see if I could write for banjo and orchestra. (The) Nashville Symphony gave me the opportunity and a good motivating push to do it by commissioning me to write the piece ... they actually wanted me to do it! This is the most musically ambitious project I’ve ever taken on, writing and orchestrating for full orchestra and banjo. I dedicated myself to the task ... I am thrilled that the premiere classical label Deutche Grammophon wanted to release this." - Béla Fleck

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
