"The lineup captured on these recordings is widely considered to be the most vital
formation of the band ..."
- UltimateClassicRock.com

"Certain classics are simply more classic than others, and on that side of the ledger you can underline At Fillmore East ... in terms of the 'new' stuff, the real ambrosia for blues-rock buffs is the 17-minute performance of Whipping Post from the first show on March 13, a morality play interposed with a cadre of guitar solos seemingly from on high."
- The Boston Globe

This is the massively-expanded 2014 re-release of The Allman Brothers Band’s landmark album At Fillmore East, compiled from the four sets recorded on the weekend of March 12 and 13, 1971. This live repackage now stretches over the equivalent of six discs with 15 unreleased tracks and also incudes the complete June 27 performance during the iconic venue’s final weekend, after the band was handpicked by impresario Bill Graham to headline the Fillmore's closing night. These live recordings capture the most inspired improvisational rock unit ever at the peak of their prodigious powers, blazing their way through extended instrumental elaborations, so taut and virtuosic, that the crowds that packed the Fillmore East on those memorable nights were utterly transfixed. The four shows were recorded by veteran Atlantic Records engineer and producer Tom Dowd. Dowd and Atlantic wanted to put out a live album to capture this skilled and adventurous band in full flight, the two guitars circling each other like a pair of falcons, stretching their material into thrilling and electrifying shapes.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
