“What you have with Rosary of Tears is Joe Camilleri’s salute to the music that had a pro- found effect on him as a young musician. Listening to the album you might think that he had been born somewhere in the Mississippi Delta or the Louisiana bayous rather than an island in the Mediterranean. He doesn’t just interpret the songs, he inhabits them as if they were written just for him – or even by him.” - Rhythms Magazine Rosary Of Tears… a collection of classic ‘parlour blues and ballads’ arranged by Joey Vincent (a.k.a. Joe Camilleri) featuring "Stormy Weather", "St Louis Blues", "St James Infirmary" and more from the era of Prestige and Folk- ways labels. Bakelite Radio has been a side project for Joe since early 2000’s and Rosary of Tears is the first release under the Bakelite Radio banner since Volumes I-IV. “Rosary of Tears is a romantic notion and a slice of who I am. The feeling behind this album was to record songs from an era when everything was new. I was fortunate enough to have stumbled on record labels like Folkways and Prestige and artists like Blind Willie McTell, Snooks Eaglin, Lonnie Johnson, Lightnin’ Hopkins. I fell in love with the genre that had so much soul. This album is dedicated to those wonderful musical luminaries…my all-time favourite artists from days gone by. To this day…as a listener…collector, writer, performer…this music is my go-to when I need a touch of inspiration.” - Joe Camilleri

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
