Les saisons au moyen âge explores a range of French, Italian, and English songs from the Medieval period in arrangements primarily for harp and flute instruments. The musicians—Marie Nishiyama and Corina Marti—also perform on less familiar instruments such as the organetto (a portable pipe organ) and the clavicymbalum (a predecessor of the harpsichord), creating a unique soundworld that allows listeners to experience pieces by Guillaume de Machaut, Raimbault de Vaqueiras, and numerous anonymous composers in new ways.
