Talented cellist Michael Kevin Jones presents Cantabile Vol. 1, along with Henry Wong Doe on piano. The album features rediscovered historical music for cello and piano from composers Michael Henkel, Anton Diabelli, and Bernard Romberg. Michael Henkel was born in Fulda Germany. He was a composer and organist who lived and worked his whole life in Thüringen. Surprisingly and unfairly almost unknown today, he wrote this fabulous, highly melodic and virtuosic ‘Piano and Cello’ sonata. ‘Rediscover’ it in Cantabile vol 1. Anton (or Antonio) Diabelli was an Austrian music publisher, editor and composer. Best known in his time as a publisher. His ‘Grand Cello Sonata op. 92 ‘ has never been recorded until now. ‘Rediscover’ this music after centuries of being hidden. Bernhard Romberg was a famous, touring virtuoso cellist. Critics called him the “Hero of all Violoncellists, the King of All Virtuosos.” What might be surprising to some is the lasting impact Romberg has had on both instruments and players.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
